Course DescriptionThis qualification reflects the role of workers in the community who follow an individualised plan to provide personal-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support. To achieve this qualification, students must have completed at least 120 hours of work placement.

Students need to be 16 to commence this course. Students will need a DCSI screening check for all areas of Community work. This course is delivered by an approved WorkReady training provider - students may be eligible to be funded for this course under a Training Guarantee for SACE students - speak to your school. A administration levy for non-member schools is applicable; fees may vary in 2020.

Students are responsible for Other Costs - Fee covers uniform top, Resources and Administration. Students will need to pay for their own First Aid course if they do not hold the correct certification for the course.
